Wasteland 2026: Custom LED Wall & Ceiling
AKARI installed the custom LED video wall and ceiling for The Shelter stage at Wasteland 2026, then supported the display system throughout the show. The installation brought video onto both the stage wall and the overhead structure at NOS Event Center in San Bernardino, California.

The installation: a wall and an overhead LED surface
The Shelter combined a custom LED video wall with a suspended LED ceiling, extending the visual installation beyond a conventional stage backdrop. The overhead surface brought video into the space above the audience, while the wall anchored the stage.
Coordinating the suspended LED installation
The project documentation included a weight breakdown for the overhead LED assembly and a separate suspension plot for the upstage wall. Planning the installation meant coordinating the LED layout, documented loads, and overhead hang points.
Chain motors attached to the LED structure raised the assembly from the venue’s overhead hang points into its show position. The finished installation brought the wall and ceiling together as part of The Shelter’s visual environment.
AKARI’s role: installation and system support
AKARI installed the LED wall and ceiling and was responsible for keeping the display system running during the event. Our scope centered on the installed LED system and its technical operation, providing the display surfaces for the show’s visuals.
The finished environment
The installed wall and ceiling formed a connected visual environment for The Shelter stage, whose production design was by Unreal Germany. The project shows how custom LED surfaces can become part of a festival’s physical setting, with technical support behind the display system.
